The district of South Goa occupies the southern part of the state. The district head quarters arelocated at Margao. It is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west, North Goa district to the North and Uttar Kannada districtof Karnataka lies towardsthe East and South directions. From north to south and from east to west the district spans a distance of 86 kms and 40kms respectively.
